Privacy of Student Records

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requires that current and former students be given access to their educational records; be provided with basic privacy protection of those records; and also provides them with better control of those records. Current and former students are allowed to designate that certain “directory information” be kept confidential. Parents of students that are considered dependents for tax purposes are also granted permission to access and view student records. For more information about your Providence records, contact the Registrar’s Office.
